In our full day preschool program children (33 months to 5 years) sit together daily during morning class meetings. They learn and develop through plenty of free play, structured activities, and story times.
Outdoor play happens daily year-round helping nurture self help skills through getting outside clothes on and off more and more independently month by month. The play children experience outdoors also has an enormous impact on the development of social-emotional skills, small and large motor skills, and cognitive skills.
In addition to participating in free play, structured activities, story time, and morning meetings, older preschool children (prekindergarten) at SonShine also begin to journal daily and learn sight words by the time they depart our program in order to be more prepared for kindergarten.
